Juba National Stadium
Built in 1962 under the regime of Ibrahim Abboud, the Juba National Stadium was renovated and inaugurated in June 2024 by South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit et FIFA’s Gianni Infantino. It has a capacity of 7,000. It regularly hosts soccer, wrestling tournaments as well as official ceremonies and festivals. The pictures show the stadium after its renovation and before. Those showing the renovated Juba National Stadium were taken during a qualification game for the Women’s World Cup, where South Sudan’s Bright Starlets confronted Algeria’s Fennecs, on 18 February 2025.
